Scott Air Force Base Passenger Terminal (PAX) Renovation

The US Air Force thru the 375 Contracting Squadron selected Poetter Construction and BHDG Architects to design a complete gut and renovation of the existing PAX Terminal at Scott Air Force Base. The purpose of the project was to renovate and upgrade the Terminal to improve passenger flow, administrative work areas, as well as replacement of all interior finishes. Areas affected and improved included the Passenger Check in and Waiting Areas including Check-in Counters with Baggage Scales, Self Check-in and Information Kiosks, Sterile Departure Lounges, new Internet Café, Security areas including X-Ray machine and magnetometer equipment lines, Distinguished Visitor Lounge, Family Lounge, as well as back-house functions including covered pallet buildup area (designed for 10k pallet forklift), pallet roller system, and new baggage conveyor system and baggage X-Ray equipment. Interior finishes were selected on the basis of aesthetics, durability, and ease of maintenance.
